Les Havaneres

L'havanera és un gènere musical dels denominats d'anada i tornada, que té el seu origen durant el segle XIX a Cuba, en la contradansa. Aquest ritme modificat amb les aportacions ancestrals de la música africana pels músics cubans derivà cap al que es coneix per havanera, que arribà a la Península de la mà de la sarsuela i que fou incorporada també al repertori de la música clàssica.

A Catalunya hi ha hagut sempre una tradició popular de colles que cantaven havaneres a les tavernes. L'any 1966 s'inicià la coneguda cantada d'havaneres de Calella de Palafrugell i el 1994 es va crear la Fundació Ernest Morató per tal d'impulsar la investigació de les havaneres en tota la seva extensió que va aportar molta popularitat a Catalunya.

The invention of the havanera, loaded with derivations in different American and European music areas, was a new rhythmic and melodic formula, a new model or musical cell to be followed that finished by influencing to other genres, such as the Caribbean danzón or the Argentinian tango. The journalist and learner Xavier Febrés defines the havanera as a song of moderate and slow tempo, plain and melancholic melody, rhythmical compass, languid balancing, romantic lyricism and undulating movement.

The Cantada d´Havaneres of Calella acted as a real turning point in the promotion of the creation of the first singing groups, just formed to to take part in the Cantada. Turism and the disappearance of the old fishermen's world made the havanera disappeared from popular environments. The havanera had moved from the tavern to the stage. +info
